In January, 2012, Garry gave a lecture on strategy and innovation in Interlaken, Switzerland, for the Swiss insurance giant, Helsana. This three-minute promo video produced for that appearance introduces Garry as the youngest ever chess world champion, as a Russian democracy activist, and as a thought leader on decision-making and strategic thinking.
As he often does, Garry opened the lecture with a reference to the hosts: “It is comforting to speak at an event sponsored by an insurance company, Helsana. I feel safer already! And we need to talk, because for some reason it is not easy for Russian opposition leaders to get insurance!”
Much of the footage of Garry in the video was taken or collected by Academy Award winning director Vikram Jayanti for his 2003 film, “Game Over: Kasparov and the Machine.” [ link ]
