New York, NY, Jan. 11, 2016 — Kasparov Chess Foundation (KCF) held its 2016 Greater New York Scholastic Championships on Sat., Jan. 9th and Sun., Jan. 10th, at the New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge. According to Chief Arbiter, David Hater, the tournament attracted 1,342 students from across the New York Metropolitan area, representing the biggest turnout in the tournament’s 50-year history.

As an added treat for participants, the Foundation Chairman, Garry Kasparov was on hand to sign books, stand for pictures, and offer encouragement to the students. To view more images, please visit www.kasparovchessfoundation.org/.
